The Impact When Caring and Technology Meets <3
Caring is the essence of nursing. ~ Jean Watson
Caring and Technology had different capabilities, but in caring in the patient with technology may give the best quality of care. why did i say it give the best quality of care? As a nursing student i want to learn everything to apply all knowledge in caring all the patient but sometimes we cannot give whole quality of care without the advance technology. some example of technology use in hospital settings to reduce error and to easily identify the problem are X-ray machine, Ultrasound machine, and many more.
Caring is not a simple way because in caring the patient is still a trial and error. During the treatment of patient you don't have any assurance that the patient is recovered because you applying all knowledge you learn how to care the patient but still they had a chances of error.
Technology is not function without the command of the person, still the machine cannot treating the patient but in the combination of caring and technology will reduce the error and can easily work fast. Now, it is not difficult to care the patient because of the help of two words which is CARING and TECHNOLOGY and had a differ meaning.
Caring and Technology had different function but is still they help each other to be accessible all information by caring the patient.
Technology is a knowledge of using tools and machines to do tasks more efficiently. We use technology to control the world we live in. Since the art of making fire and creating handcrafted tools, our civilization has come a long way. Science and Technology are making advances at an astonishing rate. From telephones to the Internet, calculators to computers, cars to rockets and satellites, we are part of a new world of discoveries and inventions made possible by Science. Fields like Medicine and communications have changed our cultures and our lifestyles. The technology that surrounds almost everyone in the modern society, affects both work and recreational activities. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at incomparable rates in history. Technology is constantly changing, and advancing.
Many different elements affect how satisfied we are with our lives. The impact of technology on these elements can change how safe, healthy and happy people feel. Throughout history, people have looked for better ways to meet their needs and to satisfy their expectations. Technology has improved the way people feed, clothe and shelter themselves. Technology has also changed other aspects of everyday life, such as health care, education, job satisfaction, and leisure time activities.
One of the important roles of the nurse is to be a patient advocate and to protect the interests of patients when the patients themselves cannot because of illness or inadequate health knowledge. The use of information and communication technology in nursing, is revolutionizing the way nurses interact with patients, deliver care and communicate with colleagues.
Health care is one of the most pressing challenges facing our nation. Almost any discussion related to improving healthcare, whether it implicates reducing costs or improving patient safety and satisfaction, usually has technology as a core component.
Technology will not solve the problem, but used appropriately will contribute to the transformation of healthcare, as it has in many other industries. With the progression of health care and technology over the last decade, example is the electronic medical record (EMR), we have seen many benefits to patient care including improvements in documentation, better legibility of chart notes and prescriptions, improvements in awareness of drug interactions, more attention to preventive health care and improved tracking of test results, and scheduling of follow up visits and future testing, to name a few.
